Mitch McConnell Shoots Down Pelosi’s Latest Power Grab With Blistering Rebuke From Senate Floor

Mitch McConnell came out swing against a new bill by House Democrats calling it another power grab by Nancy Pelosi while vowing to defeat it.

Pelosi and the Democrats have power, for the first time in two years, after being banished to the political wilderness.

As predicted they are overstepping and Pelosi is giving in to the whims and fantasies from her more liberal members who think their agenda must now be implemented.

Enter Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) who promptly ripped to pieces a Dem new key legislative proposal, part of which is to make Election Day a federal holiday.

“This is the Democrat plan to restore democracy? A brand-new week of paid vacation for every federal employee who would like to hover around while you cast your ballot?” McConnell fired off from the floor of the Senate.

“Just what America needs, another paid holiday and a bunch of government workers being paid to go out and work for I assume …”

“…our colleagues on the other side, on their campaigns,” McConnell said to devastating effect.

“Their bill would make Election Day a new paid holiday for government workers, and create an additional brand new paid leave benefit for up to six days for any federal bureaucrats who decide they’d like to hang out at the polls during an election,” McConnell added

McConnell called the House Democrats’ new legislative package of which this provision is just a part as a “political power grab” that is dead on arrival in the Senate.

McConnell dismissed it a “Democratic political protection act that would create a Washington-based taxpayer-subsidized clearinghouse for political campaign funding.”

The Democrats were offended at the very notion that they would try to game the system if Mitch indulged them.
