Trump Suspends Travel With Europe, Promises Financial Help For Americans Workers Hurt By Virus In Unifying Speech

“I’ve decided to take several strong but necessary actions to protect the health and well-being of all Americans. To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days,” President Trump said as he announced the new travel restrictions.

President Trump also asked Americans for help in stopping the coronavirus. Trump said we should practice social distancing – keeping a few feet away from people when out in public as the virus is highly contagious between people in close contact.

Trump also said he was deferring some taxes for certain businesses and is making new loans available from the Small Business Association for any business hard hit by the coronavirus.

Trump also promised workers who get hit hard by this some type of financial help that he is working with Congress to pass which will include extending unemployment insurance and other measures.

President Donald Trump announced a travel ban from Europe to the United States in an effort to protect the health and well-being of Americans amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.

“To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days,” Trump said in a prime-time address to the nation on Wednesday.

The president spoke from the Oval Office at 9 p.m. and said in advance that he would address both the health-related and economic aspects of the administration’s response the growing health crisis.
